As much as you can, keep your breathalyzer in a cool, dark place. If you want to keep it in the glove compartment of your car, be sure to remove it on days below freezing and on days when the heat rises over 90 degrees F, as extreme temperature variations an affect the sensor.
Your BACtrack has an operating temperature range and extreme temperatures, below 35 F degrees or above 102 F degress will damage the sensor. We recommend storing your BACtrack at room temperature.
It’s also worth remembering that if a breathalyzer isn’t used for a long period of time—say, 3-4 months—the sensor can dry out, which will affect its accuracy. We suggest that even if you don’t plan on using your breathalyzer for a while, breathe into it at least once a month in order to keep the sensor moist and in good working condition.
